In
Amsterdam I happened to meet a traveling musician named
Phil.....
He
was soft spoken and reserved, a real down to earth character.
We talked a little about the state of the "Blues
Scene" in Pittsburgh and in his home town of Chicago.
As
it turns out, his brother owns the bar where I first got
up for an open stage and played my first blues song in
front of a real audience! 626 S. Wabash in Chicago.
"Legends"
is one of my favorite Places on the planet! The spirit
of the place is like a conduit where you can tap into
the very soul of the blues. And if you can feel it.. You
can play it! Who's the "Guy" who owns
it?.. well his name is Buddy.
Yep!...
the "Guy" I was talking to was none other than
that funky Chicago Blues Man:>

Phil
explained to me the negative impact that free downloads
like Napster have on the artists. O.K. , everyone,
put Phil Guy in your browser window and hit search! Now
support the art form and buy one of his CD's!
And
Phil, if you are reading this, John Mayall and the Blues
Breakers.+ Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush were the names
of the artists that I couldn't remember! I had Jet Lag!
